Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at CSI-CUNY is slightly skewed towards women students, with 54.5% of undergraduate students being women and 45.5% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 10,743, with 5,856 women and 4,887 men.
On the other hand, the graduate student population at CSI-CUNY is greatly skewed towards women students, with 73.6% of undergraduate students being women and 26.4% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 1,050, with 773 women and 277 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 41.9% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 4,493 students.
Following closely behind are Hispanic students, constituting 25.6% of the student body, with 2,742 students. African American students represent 15.2% of the population, with 1,634 students, while Asian students account for 12.0%, with 1,292 students. Mixed race students account for 2.8% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 297 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.2% , with 19 students.
International students make up 2.4% of the undergraduate population, totaling 253 students.
